Intergenerational project Residence - School

Intergenerational exchanges at the heart of our school project

Since the creation of our school, we have been engaged in intergenerational exchanges with seniors living with Alzheimer’s disease hosted by the ADMR de Gaillac.

In 2018, with the support of the Foundation for Reading, we were able to carry out two projects, one with class 3-6 (kindergarten) for the realization of a puppet show adapted from a story chosen by children and the elderly. The elementary class collected memories of the elderly that we then wrote and illustrated in books that we offered to "grandmothers". Meetings around the reading of the Little Prince and stories allowed children to share their taste for reading.

After the episode of covid, we were able to resume our intergenerational meetings, this time with our neighbors from the Foucaud residence. Children in the kindergarten class meet with seniors every 15 days for festive moments, games or creative arts workshops. These are beautiful experiences of sharing and joy for all!
